Hairy Woodpecker & Northern Cardinal, males

Thanks for your kind words on my last picture. Doing the 4 days of The Great Backyard Bird Count I only had one sunny day. Some rain, and grey skies the other days. Glad I took a lot of pictures when we had that one day of Sun.--I wonder what the two males was talking about? The Cardinal was on the log first, then Hairy flew in.

Seems to be a bit of a confrontation and a great capture Ella!

Two very different birds ...so nice to see the two of them together!!! Beautiful post Ella !! TFS!!!

Two lovely captures Ella...I'd go with Hairy Pecker in both images, judging by the big/long beak.

LOL Ella, it looks like they're having a cosy chat.... wonder what they're talking about?

A super picture you've taken of these two guys - very well done lassie.

I don't get any Hairy Woodpeckers in my parts but have way too many Cardinals but they are beautiful so I can't complain or should complain.
