Harlans's Hawk-dark morph

Here is a photo from today of a Harlan's Hawk, a dark morph of a Red Tail Hawk. These are my favorite of the Red Tail Hawks. :)

Sweet flight shot. We have one hanging around here but I've yet to get a picture of him.

o:) It's a beauty, Debra, I didn't know about this variety of the well known Red-tailed Hawk!!! So, double reason to thank you for sharing!!! ;) :t: :clap:
 
I don't know how rare they are down in the States, but we had a few this year and they really stir up the birding circle a bit! This is a beautiful flight shot!
 
Thank you everyone! The regular Red Tail is more common but we do have a few of the dark morph around in my area. Think 3 that I am aware of. I saw one the other day that is almost all dark brown..gorgeous. He was not obliging me with a photo shoot so maybe next time. I have his address. (grin)
