Has this cormorant overestimated his ability?

Has this cormorant overestimated his ability? (Phalacrocorax carbo)

This cormorant was tackling a grey mullet that looked bigger than the bird was in Rosscarbery, Co. Cork last weekend.

I was running a Discover Wildlife guided walk... and none of the participants believed me when I told them the cormorant would attempt to swallow the mullet whole.

LOL yeah... I've seen them take big stuff too (picture way back in my gallery somewhere).

A great shot of this interesting behaviour - you're building up a very nice Gallery now CJ.
That is some dinner! Well caught (by you and the cormorant!).
