Has this cormorant overestimated his ability? (Phalacrocorax carbo)

This cormorant was tackling a grey mullet that looked bigger than the bird was in Rosscarbery, Co. Cork last weekend.

I was running a Discover Wildlife guided walk... and none of the participants believed me when I told them the cormorant would attempt to swallow the mullet whole.
