Hawaiian Moorhen (Gallinula chloropus sandvicensis)

This sub-species of the common Moorhen is fairly widespread in Hawaii. In Hawaiian, it is called Alae Ula. This one was on a pond in a reclaimed gravel pit on the southwest corner of Kauai.
