Here then, gone now (Poecile palustris)

Here then, gone now seems to be the theme of today's set from me. Not extinct, mind you. Just no longer finding what they were looking for where I saw them in September. For instance:
Once in a while, Marsh Tits will visit the feeders in my yard. Early this Fall it seemed one or two might be regular visitors, but now I haven't seen any for weeks. Don't know why not. Perhaps they simply found other, more reliable food sources once when I let the feeders stand empty for a few hours ...? Which reminds me: I'll have to get up early tomorrow and fill the feeders before we take off for the day at a friend's cabin.

A great close up of this Marsh Tit! Do they perhaps migrate Ann?

You can answer me here and I'll check back. ;)

KC: I don't think they migrate out of the area as a whole. I think it's more that they move about within the area. My garden is actually a bit far from the forest for them for most of the year. I still see them in the abandoned garden up by the campus, and I expect I'll see some at the botanical garden, although it's more often their near-identical "twins" the Willow Tits that I see there.

.... is that the cabin you took me to Ann? All my birds went awol for a while, but they're back now mostly.

You've taken a marvellous picture of this lovely wee tit lass - thanks girl.
