I hope this doesnt come out top pedantic and thanks for sharing your pictures.

But I cant resist you know: your Herring Gull is in its 3cy= 2nd cycle.
Axillaries are too pale with only a few patterned feathers there. Bill-base is pale and head/body too white for quite a few late 1st Winter Herring Gulls (and inner primaries are too white for a 1st cycle bird?)

Thanks for the info Alexander...These juvenile Gulls could be on a bi(cycle) LOL, and I still wouldn't be able to tell their ages...People like yourself who are so dedicated to this part of avian pleasure, have my full admiration...And thanks again, regards, Mali
