Herring Gull - ringed

Herring Gull - ringed (Larus argentatus)

Spotted at Bempton Cliffs last week. A very speedy response to my reporting the ring number -
[quote]Thank you for reporting this sighting. Herring Gull with orange ring 1909 was ringed on Seamer Carr landfill. Scarborough (TA038820) on the 30th November 2007, as a third winter bird, with metal BTO ring number GN78358.

This bird has been reported as breeding at Bempton cliffs this summer, so it is good to receive confirmation that it is still there. This bird was marked as part of a project looking at the local breeding birds, and their use of the landfill, so sightings at breeding sites are of particular interest.
