Herring gull with dead bird (Larus argentatus)

Sorry. This one's a bit grusome. Although it was also interesting watching the gull struggle to hang on to its prey as the tide rose and kept washing it away. Interesting too that the juvenile was uninterested. Maybe this wasn't its parent? Observed from up on the North Pier at Tynemouth.
