Himalayas - 114 (Dendrocitta formosae)

Himalayas - 114

Grey Treepie

In India ... their
distribution is
restricted to
Himalayas...
North-eastern States
and Eastern Ghats ...
... all fairly
remote locations ..

A pair of them
came to forage
around the
Jungle Camp ... in
Sat-tal forest ...
... more so to
check for any
eatables in the
waste-bin kept behind
the Kitchen-hut window

This activity
of the pair can
be seen in the video
I have uploaded today ...

Though, they were
not very distant ...
but the light was
not very good ... and
they gave very
few good photo-ops
... this one I
liked for the detail
of under-tail ...

Not a lifer ... but
first of this bird
in my Gallery-Folder

A lovely picture this Alok... it can't be easy getting the whole bird in shot with that long tail LOL.

Very well done on your latest gallery addition lad... it's always exciting to tick another box, isn't it!!

I sort your video out later, that's a new link to Opus as well!!

A wonderful image of this exotic and beautiful bird, Alok! India must truly be a great destination for a birder.

What a gorgeous bird, Alok, and what a fabulous study of it.
