Himalayas - 144
An endemic species ...

A bird found throughout
India ... a resident
breeder ...
but this
one was captured in
Himalayas ... and we
always find a pair or
two on this locale ...

... the Sattal lake

... surrounded by some
Primeval evergreen
forest ... supporting
growth of beautiful
Orchids ... and home
to hundreds of lovely
species ...

image taken in
low twilight after
Sunset ... at lake's
edge ... their most
preferred habitat ...
... one of the local name
of this bird is ' dhobin'
... that translates to
' washerwoman '

This is a male ... part
of a pair seen there
... and also in the
following video-clip
that nicely shows
the difference
in the depth of black between
sexes, as well ...

A beautiful detailed close up, Alok, a wonderful narrative as always, and a very enoyable video.

Lovely handheld video and another beautiful picture. Great to see a bird from so far away in a clip. I remember the time when many people were against the digital photography but the advantages of this technology are convincing.

Fantastic Alok, perfect setting for this lovely one. Some fine detail and lighting buddy.
