Himalayas - 278
In Dalhousie ...
... as we move along the
forest-edge ... there
is an old gnarled
Rhododendron
tree ... standing
at a bend on one
side ...
... we always scan
its crown for any
bird activity ... while
passing ...
We had seen
Ultramarine FC ...
Verditer FC ... Grey-headed
Canary FC ... Tits
and Leaf Warblers there
... on different
occasions ...
That day ... during a
brief rain-lull at
day break ... we did
not see anything while
going into the forest ...
... it was a bit early
and cold ... probably ...
... but while coming
back ... Renu noticed
some activity ... and
our eyes lit up as we
spotted this beauty with
electric blue patches ...
... variously claimed to be
among the most beautiful
Himalayan birds ...
On all our three previous
sightings of this beauty
we had failed to capture
any worthwhile images ...
So, it was a joy
multiplied ... on an
overcast day ... more so
as we could do brief
video-clips as well ...
... see one of them, here
