It was at day-break ...
... we were strolling
down the forest road
at pristine Sat Tal
located in the charming
Hill Station district
of Nainital in
Kumaon Himalayas ...
Canopy was richly
reverberating
with bird calls and
songs ... but they were
difficult to locate
in the lush post-monsoon
foliage ...
Through a narrow gap
in the canopy we
had a glimpse of the
silhouette of this fabulous
Cuckoo ... being
completely back-lit ...
I had to raise the
camera overhead ... much
as possible ... look in
the screen ... shoot
and hope for the best
My desperation yielded
some reward ...
... I'm not complaining
though ...
... this being the first
from Himalayas / India ...
