The Gang of Five

Gorgeous ... gregarious
loud and always on
the lookout ...
Very inquisitive ...
... keeping a good eye
on their territory ...
flying and gliding
effortlessly over
sylvan valleys ... and
hamlets in Himalayas ...
It was in 1993 ... we
were boating on a
fabulous lake ... nestled
in a remote district of
Shivalik Himalayas ...
... serene and pristine
... when
suddenly ... five of these
beauties flew over
our boat ... one-by-one
... almost in a
formation ... a sight etched
deeply in the mind
... for long ... as
it shall last ...
...
Here ... a pair
is scanning
the bottom of a gorge
... sitting on a tree
growing on the
edge ...
Boasting of the
longest tail among
corvid ... are the
magnificent
Red-billed Blue Magpie
A view of these birds
can be had in a
video-clip recorded in
Oct-2015 ...
