Hitching a Ride (Biziura lobata)

Musk Duck female and her 2 ducklings at 5 weeks of age - the "back riding" is typical behaviour for young Musk Dusks although, from my observations, each ride doesn't last long - maybe a few metres so am not sure of its adaptive benefits, if any.
