Hoatzin (Opisthocomus hoazin)

Our cruise ship has now reached Manuas, 1,000 miles up the Amazon River! Rather than going on a cruise organised trip, those of us who wanted to bird, hired a boat and guide. We went first to the Ecological Park de Janauari, and this strange, almost prehistoric bird, was our first lifer.
