Hooded Merganser surfaces (Hooded Merganser)

I was photographing Wood Ducks from my blind on the edge of our backyard swamp when I saw some large bubbles. As I watched to see what had caused them, a gorgeous drake Hooded Merganser surfaced in that spot. He was so close I was afraid that my scope wouldn't be able to focus on him. I quickly got as much of his head as I could in the frame and got one good photo before he turned away from me. This photo is uncropped.
