Hooded Mountain Tanager by Harold Davis (Buthraupis montana)

Photo of the Day: Tanagers are generally known to be brightly coloured. The exquisite Hooded Mountain Tanager is no exception, being bright yellow below and with its black hood and throat, together with its habitat, earning it its name. Generally found in small flocks in forests and woodlands in the Andean Highlands of Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela, this individual was photographed by Harold Davis in Ecuador. Have a lovely weekend everyone!
