For several days a Robin took a strong interest in this motorbike, which seems to have been abandoned half-hidden by vegetation (it doesn't look roadworthy). The bird would mess around on the ground and repeatedly fly up on to the machine. Possibly it was checking it out for a potential nesting site, can't see properly from this angle. The RSPB says: "Robins are famous for nesting in all kinds of unlikely locations, including sheds, kettles, boots, hanging baskets, coat pockets, under car bonnets, in farm machinery, even on boats in daily use."
Robins have two broods. In mild winters they may start courtship as early as January.
