House Sparrows (Passer domesticus)

Another counting job for you.... think I've got 7 (sorry Kev);)!

They'd had a feed, and were digesting it before going in for a top up!

I didn't make the dentist... you should've seen the snow!!! Re-scheduled for Christmas Eve... oh well!! I'll try and process a picture I took of the snow falling later. It doesn't look like melting today either, unfortunately. Having broken my wrist in the snow a few years ago, I'm pretty nervous about venturing out in it now.
Habitat
Town garden
Location
Blairgowrie
Date taken
3 October 2014

Passer domesticus

What a beautiful and delightful image this is, Delia !!! Thanks for sharing it.
Keep safe and warm and if you're not in any pain maybe that dentist visit can wait until the weather improves.
With best wishes.

I see 7 too ... unless that leaf at the far right near the top is nr. 8.
As for snow, or worse yet ice, or worst of all ... ice with a layer of water on top :eek!: ... what you need is a pair of these: https://www.yaktrax.com/product/walk, or these: http://nordicgrip.com/product_types/spikes/. They're really great. I walk down a 20% grade on my way to town - on ice for the better portion of the winter. With a pair of yaktrax or spikes it's not a problem at all |=)|. Without them ... :eek!: So unless and until you get some, I agree: Stay inside!
