Hummingbird Moth, aka White-lined Sphynx (Hyles lineata)

An Anna's Hummingbird came along seconds later and the moth yielded to superior beak power, then came back again when the hummer flew off, having established "ownership" of this orange tree.

Now, as for browsing: WiFi at the hotel is glacially slow. I'm aftraid I won't get caught up with everybody tonight. But I'll take the laptop with me to town tomorrow and we'll see how far I get, what with biking there and back while hubby and the "kids" climb a mountain, plus also that I'll be spending at least a couple of hours with some friends from back in school. Still, should get at least partly caught up.

That's a beautiful moth, isn't it - a lovely picture you got too.

Carrying a lappy on a bike sounds risky to me!!!:eek!: (Mind I think riding a bike is risky anyway LOL)

Good luck with finding some good wifi signals Ann.
