I told you I've got a Headache !!
Mrs was not impressed at being jumped on ! and gave the male short shrift !!

Like a waived off airplane landing he was told to 'go around' again.

Dang it ! This was my last shot on the roll of film ' it was 250m back to the homestead to get more, and besides I was stuck in the grass unable to move so that I didn't disturb them .....

Eventually the male sweet talked her and was able to jump on board and make whoopee. I discretely averted my eyes to give them some privacy ..... cursing having run out of film all the while ......

I was stuck in the grass for quite some time until they left for elsewhere ..... oh the joys of a mere 24 shots of film !

I have to say that I absolutely love these formidably weaponed little raptors with their mad mad mini-teradactyl screeches ..... :)

Nice behavior capture Chosun!!! Your narrative brings back fond memories of the days when I shot with film..albeit with a point and shoot camera!!!

Thanks Dr K :t: it certainly is a different experience with film .... wondering whether to take the shot or not and use up 1 precious frame in the process, or save it for a better shot later .... it can be quite an anxious process too ! :-O

There was also that agonising wait until the roll was finished and then to rush it off for printing to see if your settings were right, and if you actually got any good shots or not ! .......

Thank Volker :t: I was quite lucky to witness it .... I just sort of stumbled across them an hour or so earlier, and by the time I got close they were getting a bit frisky ! well at least the male was !!! :)

A stunning behavioral sequence ... great narrative ... almost as vivid as an image ... covering up nicely for the loss of film ...
Tfs, Chosun ...

Thank you Alok :t: we are quite privileged to exist with such beautiful creatures and places in this world ..... :)
