Identity Crisis! (Certhia familiaris)

Not only does it feed on peanuts and sunflower hearts it's taken to perching on branches like no other Treecreeper does! Maybe its been associating with the Chaffinches for too long ;)
They look really weird when seen from the front with low set eyes. A shame it was so distant for this photo.

Cowpen Bewley Woodland Park, Billingham, Cleveland. UK

Birds sometimes are so human ... they can act so weird :-O A fantastic shot Ian, and a great description :t::t::t:

LOL, Ian!!! :'D Love this adorable weirdo of your patch, a very beautiful and different picture of this cutie too!!! :t: :t: :loveme:

An incredible shot of this bird Ian, I never realised the eyes were so low set! A splendid shot of the tail as well, I didn't know it was so elegantly shaped. :t:

Yours should hangout with the one from John Toon more and learn the behaviour of a Treecreeper again Ian ;) Well done showing this oneoff behaviour, but strangelooking it is :D

Very interesting shot/angle Ian, forward-looking eyes and evolved to look below the curved beak, to see food items in those nooks and cranies .... Brilliant thanks.

This is superb Ian. Just shows what a predator this little bird is - the eyes focus exactly at the bill-tip, perfect for tiny-spider catching! Brilliant image!
