If only ... (Corvus cornix)

this crow had cawed for me, this shot would have been perfect. This was taken where the river path passes below the student social hall building. One of the many groups that uses the social hall is a comical men's choir called Pirum. They also organize a bathtub race (the water equivalent of a soapbox car race) at the river once a year and have planted their flag "permanently" on a gravel bank mid-river that is the finish line for the bathtub boats. By the path, on dry land, is this "directional sign", echoing the flag with the choir's logo. The sign lays claim to that gravel bank as "Pirum Bank".

You've put this in North America, Ann!

Oh yes, he should have cooperated and sung for you, Ann. Great shot and interesting information.

Incidentally, your comments about the Canada Geese made me chuckle! Thank you!
