Taken in my garden. Don't know the name of the insect, please help!
Actually I don't think this fellow was there for a drink.

Amazing image, Riccardo. Was your pool under a meteor attack? Your insect is a Bee Fly (Bombyliidae). Can be a Bombylius major but there is also B. minor and B. discolor. Also Systoechus gradatus could be possible. I think it looks quite same. Never seen it though.
 
right! it was a meteor attack... ;)
actually, the picture is technically awful but I didn't want to loose the sense of the capture.
