Inching closer

Thanks all for the nice comments on my previous photos. :)

As I've said before, I live out in the sticks and crows around here are very shy of humans. Very tough to get anywhere near them.Today I put out a suet cake for the little birds, and this guy knew it was there right away. Here he is about 100 ft away, sitting on the phone lines on the other side of the road and trying to work up the nerve to come closer. He never did though, after a while he "chickened" out and left.

I love these intelligent birds. A super close-up of this handsome crow and a great narrative, wonderview !!! Thanks for sharing.

Crows are smart birds, though. I'm thinking he'll eventually work it out - either that it's safe to come eat, or find a way to eat unobserved.
