Back at home for this one. A Wood Pigeon on the neighbour's shed roof. Well it's actually a lean-too under which they store wood.

While I was away on my long holiday, they put the tarpaulin over the end, which has the effect of stopping one of the local cats sitting on top of the wood and diving out to ambush the birds.

A lovely close up D and good to hear your neighbor is out there protecting the birds as well!

a great shot delia...i thought at first you had put the carpet out for him..lol...many thanks...

A brilliant colourful close up and well lit capture Delia. Great detail, well done.

Hmmmm. There's a thought. A neighbor's cat has been sitting in the corner of our porch, then leaping up to grab at the birds when they land on, or too close to, the bannister. Maybe we could hang a tarp over that corner to stop him ... instead of me going out the back door and throwing a glass of water after him whenever I happen to see him there. He's pretty fast, but I think I got his tail wet once. It hasn't discouraged him yet, though.
