Indian Flying-Fox (Pteropus giganteus)

The largest of India's bats ranges south into the Maldives. This Flying Fox feeds mostly on fruit and is sometimes called the "Greater Indian Fruit Bat. Usually active between dusk and dawn, this one moved around quite a bit during the day. Specific epithet disputed. Sometimes called "P. medius."
