Habitat
South Texas Plains vegetational area. Small shallow man-made pond. Mesquite and brush grassland at 23 m (75 ft) elevation.
Location
Laguna Seca Ranch, north of Edinburg, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA.

Not all birds look so gorgeous in transition. This one looks like that burnished gold finish was meant to be |=)|
