Intro
On the grass beside the track was a Spotted Dove, an introduced species, but still a Lifer for me.

I think this was the only one I saw.

A fine shot of this nicely marked dove Delia. From the scientific name, closely related to our Collared Dove. As to it being "introduced", some British introductions seem to have no ill consequences (eg Little Owl) but for some others, the position is less clear (I'm beginning to wonder about parakeets...).

I didn't see any in Oz, but did see some in New Zealand. Pretty birds, even if they are imports.
