Is it a tree?
On our way to Cheyne's Beach, Alex stopped so I could get a picture of a Grass Tree.

It's not always easy to get a view of one on it's own.

They're affectionately called 'Black Boys', but I can't remember why now.

It's a great looking Tree and perhaps it got its name from the darkness of it's trunk.
