Isabelline Shrike (Lanius isabellinus)

  • kim
A couple of weeks ago when Joelle was over here, we went to Norfolk for a weekend. Sadly it was drizzle and grey skies the whole time we were there... really maddening because the sun was shining here in Cheshire all the time whilst we were away. We did see one or two rarities but the photographing them was a bit of a waste of time., this was about the best of a bad job. Luckily the food and the booze was brilliant!!

Great pose and a nice shining eye in this super capture of a rarity, Kim. You made the best possible shot under the circumstances. My own shots of this bird are very poor.Still, it was great seeing this bird for the first time and it showed so well.

Yeah, cloudy & wet weather can be frustrating. Still, a lovely bird, perch & shot, Kim!! tfs.

Ooooh!!! You really have got a good 'un here Kim. A lovely pose and you've presented it so well too.

I love shrikes but haven't seen this one yet!!

Such a shame about the weather though... but that's Norfolk for you;)

A beautiful bird and a great photograph despite the drizzly and grey sky. Its great that you and Joelle got to enjoy the food and beverage though (lol). TFS!!!!!
