Its A Green Un (Picus viridis)

As it was quite nice yesterday, I had a walk through the small woods behind the allotments. It was great sitting on a bench listening to a couple of Song Thrushes singing back and forth to each other. Then I spotted this guy foraging amongst some leaves in the distance. I have seen this bird a few times last year, but never got near enough for a shot. This is a real big crop, but its my first Green Woody shot.

That's a great shot Mali. They are frustrating birds as they are often close but not close enough to photograph. I love the alert pose and the leafy setting. Very nice.

Great woodland atmosphere in this shot and a superb woody expression,Mali :t::t::t:

I always love to see shots of woodpeckers on the ground. It's not something I see too often these days. Lovely Mali!
