Ivory Gull (Pagophila eburnea)(Rare Bird Sighting)
This photo documents the rare sighting of a single adult Ivory Gull (Pagophila eburnea) at West Point Lake, Georgia on January 29, 2010. This bird is a resident of the ice fields of the high Arctic and very seldom strays south of the Bering sea. This may be the southern most sighting of this species on record. My complete web gallery of this rare sighting can be see at http://www.pbase.com/lejun/ivorygullalong with my video at http://www.pbase.com/lejun/image/121547913
