Jaguar
Jaguar (Panthera onca subsp. palustris) River bank of an unknown tributary feeding Ro Cuiab, Pantanal, north of Porto Jofre, Mato Grosso, Brazil. Gallery forest (Vreza forest) at about 128 m (420 ft) elevation. This cat was the purpose of this trip though we found a few hours each day to bird. The Jaguar is the 3rd largest cat in the world and this subspecies is the largest of the nine subspecies recognized. Almost twice as large as the most northern subspecies.

The Pantenal is on my bucket list despite the problems that come with old age. My sister went two years ago and got some great Jaguar pics and video.
