Jay (Garrulus glandarius)

today was the first time i have managed to get near enough to be able to take pictures.Taken this evening as the sun was going down on a lovely spring day.The jay.....a much maligned from some quarters.I think they are very pretty birds

So attractive these guys but, for me, really difficult to photograph - they're really nervous up here and don't like to be seen by people at all!
