Jerdon's Minivet
M

Jerdon's Minivet (Pericrocotus albifrons)

an endemic from central Myanmar, several (eg Cornell, IOC) have this as a separate species; others as an ssp of the White-bellied Minivet (as in Opus), which has an all-black head, not the 'bandit mask' of this guy. Only the male has the lovely orange bib. Took a long time to find but a poor record, sadly; too many things in the way.

A hard habitat to get a clear unobstructed shot but a brilliant capture and picture despite the difficulties. A mega cutie with that black and white plumage with his orange bib. TFS this endemic Max! TFS!
