Jicaro Danto Tree
Jicaro Danto Tree (Parmentiera valerii: Bignoniaceae) An endemic and endangered species of Costa Rica. It grows 15-20 m (49-66 ft) tall and has cauliflory flowers (flowers that arise directly from the tree trunk).
Habitat
Foothills of Tenorio Volcano, primary rainforest at ca. 700 m (2,297 ft) elevation.
Location
Heliconias Lodge Reserve, Bijagua de Upala, Alajuela Province, Costa Rica. Situated between Tenorio and Miravalles Volcanos.
