Junco
One of my favorite things about winter is the presence of Juncos in the garden on a daily basis. They are such lovely and interesting birds. And yes, I actually do like winter, lol. A time for me to take a hiatus from the gardening and enjoy the earth at rest. I love the hiss of thickly falling snow and the utter silence and piercing blue sky of a clean sunny morning after a snow storm. And I love sitting in the hide listening the birds arrive at the feeders and indentifying them by song and chatter.... And, its a good thing I feel this way because we've had more than three feet of snow in January and are supposed to get another two feet tomorrow and Wednesday...

Very good details, exposure, pose, and natural looking color.
Cool setting that seems to frame the bird well too:t:

Another Excellent capture Deanne, superb detail and composition, very well done :t:
Love your description of winter...hope the Kansas storm isn't heading your way!!

WOW a beautiful bird in a gorgeous setting - the detail is superb!!! :t::t::t:

Sounds like bliss to me too Deanne (Oh for some sunshine here!! ;)). And what a delicately pretty little bird. The setting you've caught it in is equally muted and really makes for a beautiful shot. I love the way you've caught the light in the eye too. :t:
