Just trying to keep warm (Cardinalis cardinalis)

A very cold and relatively grey day yesterday, January 12th. The water droplets on the fence were due to the freezing rain we'd had the night before. After having a full meal at the feeder, our resident male Cardinal decided to rest on this fence post. A couple of Juncos must have thought it would be a warm place to perch because they joined him on the fence, but didn't stay very long.

It looks like some harsh conditions for this pretty boy to have to endure. Three excellent posts Adele!!!

Thanks, Sue & Simon and Stanley. This Cardinal is certainly familiar with me and accustomed to my photographing him. I think he likes the attention!
