Juvenile Sandwich Tern, taken at Rye Harbour last year. Had planned to bus it out there today, but the road to the harbour has been closed for a couple of days, due to a chemical spillage, typical.

Sand or Shingle Beaches near coast
Location
Rye Harbour
Date taken
2008
Scientific name
Sterna sandvicensis
Equipment used
Nikon D70s, Sigma 50-500mm
Love the names you give to your birds, Mali... and to some BF members too!!! :'D

A beautiful juvie "Sarnie" view from above, boy, love the tail display and how it shows all the lovely markings, WOW!!! :t: :t:

Shame about the chemical spill, but this is a great BIF shot! Beautiful wing position really shows the markings!
