Juvenile Shag
I am only placing these 3 shots on the Gallery as they are the 1st shots taken of the species shown.Taken at the Isle of Man,in the most horrendous gales and rain etc.I was taken to one of the highest points in Douglas,by taxi,so I could have a wander along the cliff tops.Lots of these birds braving the seas, bringing food to their youngsters.

Hi Christine!! so you missed the TT, love the idea of birding on the Island, must have been great to be over their knowing you have conquered the Island with hubby!!! Brilliant image and a brilliant thought of you over there with just the birds to worry about :t::t::t:

Thanks,Ken,very kind of you to make a comment.Barry did go to the TT,I stopped at home with Alfie, our dog.I went on this trip just to see if I could take some Gannet shots.
I have previously roamed the length and breadth of this beautiful island, but was not into birding, then, only fast bikes.
thankyou, again,Ken.I was not expecting any comments for these shots,as they are not the super close up jobbies. But they do show the extreme conditions in which these birds breed and bring up their offspring.

They don't all need to be the super close-ups. I really enjoy seeing environment/habitat shots, Christine. The sense of movement from the surf, and the rocks the young Shag must navigate, really gives us a look at what he is up against.
Excellent shot, thanks for posting it.
