Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus)

Probably our most friendly Kestrel locally. It's the only one around that will let you drive up alongside without batting an eye lid. In fact every other one takes flight if you get within 50m. Quite a few make use of the fence posts alongside the road to either hunt or rest up.

Seaton Common, Seaton Carew, Cleveland. UK

Falco tinnunculus

Highly photogenic Kestral Ian...obviously knows a photo op when it sees one. I like this portrait very much...the beak fascinates me...built for the job!! The feather detail is super too.

Nice one Ian, The Beak on this bird looks very thick and heavy I have not seen one like it.
