King Brown Snake
This is a King Brown Snake, also known as a Mulga Snake. This two metre specimen crossed a dirt track in front of us and disappeared under a log.Stopping the car,the snake soon appeared on the other side of the log and checked us out before slowly moving away.It is one of Australia's ten most poisonous snakes and I(Hans) will no longer pick these up by hand, like in the days of my youth! Judy's comment to this statement:"thank crikey"!
Ps: she had to help me a lot with snakes in the old days.

Great portrait at his level. I would never dare handle one. Great work.

Thanks mate's for posting this picture, once again you bring back memories of my times in the outback, especially the night I almost shared my swag with one of these friendly creatures.

I love the way it's checking you out, so cautiously. They're so shy in isolated country, it's very hard to get a good shot of them, great work!
