King Rail
I had to keep this bird secret for the most part--because of rarity and finding it during breeding season. It is the first King Rail sighting in the Saginaw Bay Michigan area for twenty-five years (all 8 counties). It was running around on the road and I just glimpsed it going into the grass. It responded to a Virginia Rail call--which are common here. The size gave it away immediately.
