After the River Trent had risen a couple of feet following the rain, this perch was covered in debris, but it didn't seem to put this male Kingfisher off.

I like the bokeh effect on this as the river in the background kind of looks like smoke.

This adult male is sitting below the nest hole (which he's looking at) where I assume the female is brooding a clutch of eggs. This is the second burrow of the year in the same bank, so it shouldn't be long before the fish delivery service begins.

What an outstanding shot! The focus and clarity are fabulous and the bokeh excellent. I like this a lot.
