Kissing the Flower - for Luiz

Kissing the Flower - for Luiz (Archilochus alexandri)

The Black-chinned Hummingbirds are back. We had our first ones visit last year and just had a male and female come back in the yard today. Usually I am only able to get images of them at the feeder, but today the female was getting nector from the pentstemmin flowers. The caption is for my BF friend, Luiz. He takes a lot of the wonderful South American Hummingbird pictures you see in the forum. He likes to say that when he gets a picture like this that the bird is kissing the flower.
Habitat
Summers throughout much of the western United States found in both urban and rural areas.
Location
Backyard, Hereford, Arizona
Date taken
April 1, 2007
Scientific name
Archilochus alexandri
Equipment used
Canon 20D, Canon 400mm 5.6 IS Lens
That was a very kind offer Lisa - thanks! Never been to USA, which is a pity. I loved the scenery as caught by Ansel Adams in his black and white landscape photography.
