Pat,

Our first day was a disaster too, as it was my first go at trying to capture birds in flight. Being an experienced sports 'tog I assumed I could use my normal focus method - not so.

Second day I used the Matrix auto focus and just set it to full auto - result, 80% pin sharp success rate. I have dozens of images which I'll slowly post online.
