Tame pasture, coastal prairie and marshes at ca. 1 m (3.3) ft elevation.
Location
Whites Ranch Road (FM 1985), northeast of the main unit of Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge, southwest of Winnie, Chambers County, Texas, USA.

Wow, this is a terrific shot Stanley. The head turn shows that fearsome bill in fine detail, and the bird looks almost aquiline.
