Waders are coming ...

While Rain Quail was
the main theme on
the last eventful
birding day ...
... the early arrival of
Waders was the
sub-theme of the visit ...

And ... we were really
lucky with some lovely
transitional-plumage
captures ... with many of
them carrying over their
special plumage and
colors ... that will gradually
wear-off during their
stay here through the
coming winter ...
... and they are coming
in droves ... to our area
... Delhi and Gurgaon ...
riding on an above average
rainfall ... creating
favorable conditions ...
As one can see here this
Ruff has come back/ arrived
with a substantial part
of his ruff ... still
on his nape, mantle
and upper back
and very dark colored
feathers ... that will
slowly fall during his stay
here ...
... this is the earliest we
have captured them around
our place ... and ... they
have been here for 5-6 days
already ... as told by
our local friend and help ...
