Lakescape - 378 (Gracupica contra)

Lost Wetland Images

Roosting Matters - 1

( ... a mini series
of three images ... )

It was just after
the sunset on
that day ...
Thick columns of fog
had already started
moving in ...
We were slowly trudging
out of that surviving
patch of a wonderful
wetland-wilderness ...
... that is being hemmed
in from all sides ...

There were thousands of
starlings ... a mixed group
... looking
for whatever acacias and
shrubs that were left
standing ... to spend
a cold night
They presented a
magnificent and very vocal
spectacle ...

Ghosts of tall pylons
and stretching cables
... signs of an advancing
and usurping civilization
... appeared like some
... Quixotic Giants ...
at a distance ...
